DESCRIPTION
The Bayliner 285 (called the 2855 Ciera Sunbridge in 2000–02) is similar to earlier Bayliner express boats in her contemporary styling, roomy accommodations and very affordable price. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a relatively wide 9'11" beam, the midcabin floorplan of the 255 is arranged with a V-berth forward with privacy curtain and the owner’s stateroom aft with a solid privacy door and plenty of storage. The dinette will seat four comfortably, and three overhead deck hatches provide ventilation and additional lighting. A full galley, standup head, and generous storage round out the interior. In the cockpit, Bayliner introduced a unique L-shaped lounge seat in the 285 that converts into a sun pad or an aft-facing bench seat. A fold-down bench seat is installed at the transom, and a transom door opens to an extended swim platform. Lacking side decks, an opening panel in the windshield provides access to the foredeck. Among several engine options, a single 300hp MerCruiser sterndrive will cruise the Bayliner 285 at 20 knots and reach a top speed of just over 30 knots.
