DESCRIPTION
Priced to sell, Largest boat in the Chris Craft fleet at the turn of the millennium, the 328 Express Cruiser (called the 32 Crowne in 1997 and the 320 Express in 1998–99) is a contemporary midcabin family cruiser whose moderate price will appeal to budget-minded buyers. Chris Craft enthusiasts haven’t had much to cheer about in recent years when it comes to well-styled boats, but the 328 combines several nice design touches wrapped up in a conservative but stillcontemporary package. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a wide beam, and her centerline helm position (as opposed to the traditional starboard-side console) is somewhat unique. Below deck, the midcabin floorplan is very spacious for a boat this size. The layout is fairly conventional with double berths fore and aft, a small galley and a head with shower. The Crowne’s anchor arrangement is pretty slick—a concealed windlass lowers the self-stowing anchor through an opening beneath the bow. Additional features include a walk-through windshield, an electric engine compartment hatch, and transom door. Among several engine options, twin 5.7-liter Volvo I/Os cruise at 22 knots (mid 30s top) .
