DESCRIPTION

A good-selling boat for Sea Ray during her late 1980s production years, the 270 Amberjack is a roomy express fisherman with an unusually large cockpit to go with her basic cabin accommodations. Construction is solid fiberglass, and her 10-foot beam is wide for a 27-footer. The single-level cockpit is arranged with a fore-andaft companion seat opposite the helm and foldaway bench seating at the transom. There’s a storage bin between the two seats, and additional storage is located under the gunwales. Inside, the cabin is fitted with V-berths, an enclosed standup head compartment with shower, and a compact galley area. Because of her generous cockpit dimensions, the interior of the Amberjack is smaller than many other express boats her size—a design decision anglers will appreciate. A single hatch at the transom provides good access to the engines. Additional features include a small transom door, swim platform with ladder, teak bow pulpit, and teak covering boards. Among several engine choices, a pair of 260hp MerCruiser sterndrives cruise the Sea Ray 270 Amberjack in the low 20s and reach a top speed of over 30 knots.
